Note that the date for Sulphurous Lake District Volunteer Fire-fighter’s Association (SLDVFFA) annual general meeting has been changed to Sept. 5 at the fire hall on Pettyjohn Road, starting at 1 p.m.

Happy occasion

The community sends many congratulations to Wolf Zink and his bride Katherine (née Song Hee Yoo) on their recent marriage.

We wish them every health and happiness.

Pay DL&DRA dues

Because the Deka Lake & District Ratepayers’ Association (DL&DRA) newsletter was not out before the annual general meeting, some people missed paying their dues ($7 per person; $10 for a couple residing together).

However, they can still send it in to DL&DRA, c/o 7524 Burgess Rd., Lone Butte, B.C., V0K 1X3.

Space groups return

Interlakes Youth Groups, Kids Space and Teen Space, which are sponsored by the Cariboo Presbyterian Church, will soon be back.

Kids Space, for those aged infant to Grade 7, will meet Sept. 18, Oct. 2, 16 and 31 (Halloween at Interlakes Rodeo Grounds), Nov. 13 and 27, and Dec. 4 and 9.

Friends send many congratulations to Stephanie (Schiemann) and Karim Hemani on the Aug. 22 arrival of their firstborn, a son weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz.
