At Bridge Lake Elementary School's Awards Day on June 29, congratulations went to the students who placed on the honours list for the entire school year.
Grade 7 students who are moving on include Takara Billy, Austin Briand, Austyn Schroeder, Aislinn Rivard and Jason Vogel. Along with everyone's best wishes, each graduate received a framed photo of their class, an engraved pen and a T-shirt.
The school is most grateful to Johann Miller who created a slide show depicting the whole year's activities. As well as sports tournaments, the Terry Fox Run, the auction, talent show and Christmas concert, the slides covered special trips for skiing at Mt. Timothy, swimming at Kamloops, including wondrous underwater shots, and the Adams River salmon run.
Principal Eric Storteboom thanked the community for its terrific support of the school's November auction, which provided for these field trips.

Fun ball tourney
Visitors are welcome to watch the annual Magoo Memorial Fun ball Tournament at Interlakes Hall ball fields Aug. 6-7.
The event, which has run for more than 30 years, was renamed in 1986 to honour Sheridan's "colour commentator," Michael "Magoo" Barkley who was killed in a motorcycle accident that year, and whose friends still field a team.
Team registration costs $200 and is payable in advance. Teams must comprise a minimum of 11 and maximum of 18 players, four of whom must be the opposite sex.
The registration deadline is July 25; call Christine Nadeau at 250-593-4885.
