Harvest Dinner cancelled

Lack of tickets sales causes organizers to reschedule

This year's Local Harvest Dinner fundraising event has been cancelled, and organizers plan to reschedule it for sometime next spring.

The Horse Lake Community Farm Co-operative (HLCFC) and the Agri-Culture Enterprise Centre were co-hosting the event.

"We are very sorry that this had to happen," says HLCFC spokesperson Rob Diether.

He explains it became clear to organizers that many people had other plans for the Thanksgiving weekend.

That left ticket sales "a bit softer than they had hoped" for the locally-grown and locally-prepared celebration harvest dinner, Diether adds.

"So, we thought it might be wise to move the event to another time."

Anyone who purchased tickets at Higher Ground Natural Foods can return them there for a full refund, he says.

If folks picked up their tickets up at the South Cariboo Farmers' Market, Diether says they will be contacted by organizers to arrange for a refund.

"We hope anybody who is interested to know more about the co-op can find us at our website at www.horselakefarmcoop.ca."
