Globe-trotting youth orchestra to perform at Martin Exeter

The renowned Prince George Youth Orchestra and Friends will swing by 100 Mile House on June 4 to perform at Martin Exeter Hall in a concert they call "Spring."

The 25-member orchestra, conducted by Sebastian Ostertag, consists of young people between the ages of 12-15 years, who have performed in the United Kingdom and through Western Europe. The orchestra is a program of the Prince George Conservatory of Music, which sees many of its students advance to perform with other orchestras and ensembles throughout British Columbia.

Expect to hear everything from the music of Handel to tunes from the 1990s, as well as performances by guest violinist Jose Delgado-Guevara who, in 2009, was the instrumental performance adjudicator for 100 Mile Festival of the Arts.

The 100 Mile House & District Arts Council is hosting the show and admission at the door will be by donation.

The matinee performance begins at 2:30 p.m.
