Gifts galore at Winter Craft Fair

Classy and crafty gifts for early Christmas shopping

People can get a jump on their Christmas shopping at the 34th annual South Cariboo Winter Arts & Crafts Fair  2011 this weekend at 100 Mile House Junior Secondary.

Fair hours are 6-9 p.m. on Nov. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 5. Expect to see 50 or more artists and artisans selling their unique wares.

Birgit Bienek, one of the main co-ordinators, says there will be a lot of new things this year.

Shadow boxes, scrapbooking cards and gifts, glass art, fudge, homemade granola bars and glass art are only part of the list.

Bienek adds people should be prepared to pay cash for most purchases, as very few vendors will be able to handle alternate methods of payment.

Keep your eyes and ears open for entertainment that will be featured intermittently throughout both days. On Saturday afternoon, 100 Mile Mayor Mitch Campsall will choose the most unique booth.

There is a $2 admission fee to enter the fair and all proceeds will be used to promote the arts in the community through grants and other forms of support.
