The garden tour held by the 100 Mile and District Garden Club on Aug. 6 was enjoyed by 24 people who meandered through gardens in Forest Grove, 103 Mile and 108 Mile Ranch.

It was hard to get an exact head count, says club president Maggie Griffiths, because folks were coming in waves throughout the four hours of the tour.

"The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect for walking through beautiful gardens that reflected the loving care and imagination of the owners."

From the perspective of the garden club, she adds, the day went very well.

"Those who attended really enjoyed the day because of the weather and the gardens, which are so well looked after and just a joy to behold.

"People were often heard exclaiming their pleasure in comments, such as, 'what a good idea,' 'this garden is so peaceful,' and 'the colours are beautiful'."

She adds the day was enjoyed by garden owners and visitors alike, and the tour wound up at the home of Jim and Jeanette Gellein in 108 Mile Ranch.

"Many of the visitors met for light refreshments afterwards, and a chat about our individual impressions on what we had seen."
