First responder recruitment notice

News from in and around the Watch and North Green lakes communities

The Watch Lake-North Green Lake Volunteer Fire Department (WLNGLVFD) is planning to expand the number of available first responders by inviting interested members of the community to join the department as first responder personnel only.

Applicants will be required to take the First Responder Level 3 course and to attend weekly training sessions at 7 p.m. every Tuesday evening. For further information, please contact fire chief Guy Poliseno at 250-395-9082.

Congratulations

The WLNGLVFD would like to congratulate Mark Bulman, Joni Guenther, Gisele Poliseno and Candace Tyler for their achievement in passing the First Responder Level 3 course in December.

It was a very busy couple of weekends with reviewing and hands-on training. They all succeeded in passing the written, as well as the practical examinations on Dec. 11.

A big thank-you goes to chief Poliseno, the FR instructor, for being a great instructor and we really appreciate all the time he gave us.

Reactivation

This is to let our community know the WLNGLVFD First Responder has been reactivated since Jan. 11.

A belated birthday wish to David Cole for Jan. 9.

A special birthday wish to Erik Skold who will be celebrating is 101st birthday on Jan. 30. Hope you have a wonderful day.
