The Santa Claus Parade will kick off the festive season in 100 Mile House on Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. After the parade

If you want to stay off of Santa's naughty list, you'd better plan to attend the annual Santa Claus Parade in downtown 100 Mile House.

It's slated for Nov. 25 at 5 p.m., with a route that starts at First Street, follows along Birch Avenue and turns left on Fifth Street to Cedar Avenue and left again back to the start point in behind Save-On-Foods.

South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce manager Lisa Carr manager says they've been getting good feedback from prospective parade participants and from the general public about the upcoming event and entries are coming in.

She has received confirmation from a couple of businesses, the District of 100 Mile House and from a group of female hockey players from the 100 Mile & District Minor Hockey Association.

Carr adds she has been receiving faxed entry forms and Darlene Griffen, at the South Cariboo Visitor Centre has been accepting dropped-off entries.

Griffen has received several responses, including those from local car dealerships, the Canim Lake Band, 108 Lions Club, Cariboo Agility Team dog club, Green Lake Snowmobile Club and the Quad Squad South Cariboo ATV Club.

No matter what, the parade is sure to be a fantastic show of lights, colour, music and festive celebration.

Entries are being accepted until noon on Nov. 23 and Carr wants people to get on board for several reasons.

"It promotes your business or organization and it’s festive and a great way to get families out to enjoy what the community has to offer."

She adds the long range weather forecast looks to be favourable, with the temperature expected to be around 0 C.

Parade entry forms can be downloaded from the Internet at www.southcariboochamber.org, or can be picked up at the chamber office at 2-385 Birch Ave. People can also have them faxed by calling 250-395-6124.

Completed forms can be dropped off at the Visitor Centre or faxed to the Chamber office at 250-395-8974. There is no cost to participate in the parade.

After the parade, plan to get your Christmas shopping done throughout the evening during Moonlight Madness, where shops will stay open for extended hours and many will offer special deals.
