At Deka Lake &District Volunteer Fire Department (DLDVFD) Ladies Auxiliary’s (LA) May 3 annual general meeting, president Patty Nash and treasurer Ruth Marx were re-elected.
Vice president Val Dennison is in mid-term, and Lori Anderson received a warm welcome as the new secretary.
The ladies will be donating two items to the silent auction at June’s Fire Chiefs Association of British Columbia convention, with proceeds to the Burn Fund. The quilters are donating a lap-quilt, and member Erica Lechner has created a beautiful afghan.
On June 7, the LA will hold a short meeting at 11:30 a.m., followed by a potluck luncheon. Thereafter, the LA does not meet again until October.
Condolences
Directors of Bridge Lake Fair Association were saddened to learn of the April 20 passing of Al Blannin, at the age of 88.
For many years, Al was one of the Fair’s judges, using her expert knowledge and wisdom in both the Plants &Flowers and Garden Fruits &Vegetables Sections.
Deepest sympathy is extended to her husband, Jack and their family.
