Dog Days for children, too

On Oct. 7, she will be hosting Dog Days at her home near Forest Grove

Kay Gibson likes dogs and she likes children and she also likes to see them have fun together.

On Oct. 7, she will be hosting Dog Days at her home near Forest Grove with a lot of activities for children and their dogs to enjoy.

There'll be agility challenges, a hotdog-eating contest, Frisbee catch and competition for the three best tricks and best-dressed dog. There will also be a trophy for the overall top dog of the day.

The event is free of charge and dogs must be on a leash and have up-to-date vaccinations.

Gibson, who ran the same sort of event for several years at the fall fair, says she just enjoys doing it.

"I do it mainly for the kids because there isn't a lot going on for kids and their dogs."

Dog Days at 4414 Eagle Creek Rd., just one kilometre from Forest Grove General Store, starts at 1 p.m.
