Happy anniversary
Jane and Bill Wride of 70 Mile House celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 25.
Both are still active members of the community.
Hall break-in
The 70 Mile House fire hall was broken into sometime near the end of February.
Entry was gained through a side door. There was damage to the door frame, and a file cabinet in the meeting room.
The culprits then took $500 worth of gas from the trucks and a reserve tank. If you have any information about this event, please contact Derrick Edwards at 250-456-2314 or Elaine Pattie at 250-456-7391.
Tax service begins
The community volunteer income tax program has returned.
If you have a low income, you can have your tax return prepared free of charge.
Just drop in to Seventy Mile Access Centre (SMAC) on any Saturday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. during March and April. No appointment is necessary.
Poker tournament
The next 70 Mile Volunteer Fire Department poker tournament will be held on March 26 at the 70 Mile Community Hall.
Doors open at 11 a.m. and play starts promptly at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon. To register, call Elaine at 250-456-7391.
Bingo slated
The next bingo date is March 24, and the doors at SMAC open at 6 p.m. and play starts at 7 p.m.
