Members of the community enjoyed a choice of homemade turkey soup and/or corn chowder, Caesar salad, turkey, ham or egg salad sandwiches, many desserts and refreshments while once again enjoying the music of the Cariboo Ramblers.

Willie Giesbrecht sang lead vocals and played guitar, Rob Diether played banjo and guitar and sang backup vocals, Marg Huber played the keyboard, Rob Boeham played lead guitar and Earl Erickson was on the harmonica and they performed many old time country favourites.

The Lone Butte 4-H club had a successful dinner/auction fundraiser on Feb. 25 and organizer Chanelle McBride says they surpassed their fundraising goal.

The winners of the pork raffle were Deanna Brennan and Charity Musgrave.

McBride extends their appreciation to all who supported this event with a special thank you to Donna Barnett who not only came out to support the 4-H event, but volunteered as auctioneer and "did a great job."

Historical Association news

The Lone Butte Historical Association (LBHA) also would like to thank Barnett for her personal donation of $1,000 which helped with the caboose foundation and the connection of hydro to the caboose, which was done by Garth's electric.

The next meeting of the LBHA will be at 7 p.m. on March 15 at the Alice Singleton Heritage House.
