A few dozen people came out for a nice Christmas community dinner at the Lone Butte Hall on Dec. 11.

With a lot of food to go around, some Christmas carolling and a visit from Santa, everyone had a wonderful time. The children (and a few adults) sat on Santa's knee, and received a treat or two from his trusty little elves.

A good time was had by all. Keep your eyes open for the next potluck that will be held sometime in February.

Party time

Dec. 18 found the Iron Horse Pub full to the brim with several Christmas parties going on.

The Interlakes Snowmobile Club had about 40 members come out to celebrate the season with a buffet dinner, followed by a great video presentation and a lot of gifts and door prizes.

It’s a pretty impressive gang of riders, who between them all, probably know every snowmobile trail in the whole Cariboo.

The staff and partners from Cedar Crest Centre from 100 Mile House also brought their Christmas party out to Lone Butte.

There was a lot of laughter while they exchanged and stole gifts around the crowded tables.

Election time

The Lone Butte Fish and Wildlife Association has its annual general meeting slated for Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Lone Butte Hall.

Coffee and tea will be available and there’s a potluck on sweet treats if anyone would like to bring something. Come out to support the organization and vote for the executive.

Call George Ostoforoff at 250-395-4027 for more information.

It’s also time to renew your membership, so you can have the required liability insurance for your four-wheeler or snowmobile.

See www.lbfw.com for upcoming events and other relevant information on what's happening in our area.

Hall repairs

The Lone Butte Horse Lake Community Association (LBHLCA) will soon be advertising for contractors to look at some structural repairs that are needed on the floor beams of the community hall, so watch for this if you are interested in some work.

The new executive also would like to wish everyone in the community a happy new year, and it looks forward to bringing more fun events for you to enjoy.
