Community association April 1 fundraiser successful

Interesting news about the folks in the Watch Lake North Green Lake area

The Watch Lake-Green Lake Community Association (WLGLCA) executive wishes to express its thanks to all of the donators and volunteers who helped make the Garage Sale and Brunch a success on April 1.

Fifty-eight plates of brunch were cooked, served and enjoyed.

AGM slated

Fourteen members attended the Watch Lake/North Green Lake VFD (WLNGLVFD) Auxiliary’s annual general meeting on March 24.

Events planned for this year include the Garage and Bake Sale on May 19 at the Sonny Johnson Memorial Fire Hall, Dinner and Auction on June 16, and the Firefighters Appreciation Dinner on Oct. 20.

The auxiliary’s raffle tickets will be on sale commencing mid-May at the Cariboo Mall and Save-On-Foods in 100 Mile House. More information as to the dates of the ticket sales will be posted in this column.

The 2012 board of directors includes president Gisele Poliseno, vice-president Joni Guenther, treasurer Barb Thurston, secretary Judy Cole, and directors Helen Monk, Helen Eagle, Marjorie Hogg and Marilyn McCarron.

Garage sale items

When you start your spring-cleaning and are thinking about discarding any used items, please remember the WLNGLVFD Auxiliary’s annual garage and bake sale.

Items should be in fairly good condition and when donating electrical appliances, indicate whether they are in working condition or not. All donations are greatly appreciated.

If you have any items to donate, please contact Helen Monk at 250-456-7638 for drop-off. She has, once again, offered her garage to store the items until May 18.
