Colouring contest coming along swimmingly

Pool group hosting colouring contest

The South Cariboo Aquatic Society (SCAS) colouring contest deadline for entries is Aug. 15.

"The contest is part of the campaign to bring awareness to the need of a pool and a way of involving the community with the process," says SCAS advertising and public relations director Lori Fry.

Prizes are by age category: up to four years, beach kit and sand toys; five to seven years, bubble-maker tower and water sprayer; eight to 10 years, $20 Dairy Queen gift certificate and two movie tickets; 11-12 years, dinner for two at A&W (includes two teen burgers, two fries and two root beers) and movie tickets for two; and 13-18 years, two medium pizzas from Canadian 2 for 1 and movie tickets for two.

Entries will be judged by Cariboo artists Cameron Bird, Bobbie Crane and Vance Theoret. The winners will be announced at the South Cariboo Garlic Festival on Aug. 28.

There is still time to pick up entries at Cariboo Regional District Library - 100 Mile branch, Pharmasave, 108 Supermarket, and Lac la Hache Race Trac Gas.

"I want to encourage all the kids to pick up their entries; there are some wonderful prizes available," says Fry.

"They can drop off their completed pictures at the same locations they picked them up."
