I hate to be the one to break the news, but I have sighted some yellow leaves.

As the nights get cooler and the days get shorter, summer is slowly winding down to a close. With the long weekend behind us, the routine of school, sports practices and regular life have arrived.

With any luck, we will enjoy a nice fall, but somehow it is just isn't quite the same as summer.

My family enjoyed many runs down to the beautiful beaches of Green Lake, an educational and enjoyable overnight trip to Barkerville, an adventure to Alberta and a few musical weekends while enjoying the lazy days of summer.

I hope you have made some lasting memories also, even though summer has gone by so quickly.

Hall activities

With the arrival of September, hall activities will soon be getting back into the regular swing of things.

Get some exercise and have some fun at drop-in volleyball that will be starting Sept. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Contact Vivianne Fournier at 250-395-8952 for more information.

Crafters and knitters can get their project ideas out for the OUT Group (Other Unusual Talents) on Sept. 20.

The next craft bazaar will be held on Sept. 24. If you would like to market your wares, call Pat McKay at 250-395-2114.

Back to school

Welcome back to school everyone.

It’s time to get to bed a little earlier and get up a little sooner.

It’s time to get those lunches made and new school books ready for another year of education because you can't wait to see what activities your school has lined up for you to do this year.

Parents, just take a nice big relaxing breath.

If you have community events, get-well, birthday or anniversary wishes or news you would like to share, please call me at
