On June 24, Variety – The Children’s Charity thanked the Village of Clinton for its many years of support with a Community With A Heart Award.
It was presented at Variety’s 45th annual Heart Awards ceremony at the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre in Burnaby.
The funds raised at Clinton’s 2013 150/50 celebrations, combined with the many contributions the Village has donated to Variety over the years, brings the total to well over $47,000.
Clinton Councillor Wayne Marchant accepted the award on behalf of the Village. He was accompanied to the ceremony by Fran White, who proposed the idea for a Variety Talent Show and spearheaded the campaign to fundraise for the children’s charity.
