Cariboo Regional District releases refuse transfer information

Community news happening around the 108 Mile Ranch

Hopefully, everyone has received the public notice concerning the Lac La Hache Refuse Transfer Station advising of the new operations.

It was noted the facility has a clean wood-waste marshalling yard; large-item share shed; and new bins have been installed to accommodate compaction and larger items.

Furthermore, there will be an attendant to control operations.

The new operating hours, from Oct. 1 to March 31 2013, will be from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. five days a week, and will be closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. For more information, contact the Cariboo Regional District at 250-392-3351 or toll free at 1-800-665-1636.

Mile 108 Elementary

Between Aug. 12 and 18, loads of clean fill were delivered to the area where the geothermal pipes are buried, and towards the end of the week, the entire fill was levelled.

It is hoped the fill will provide more insulation for the pipes.

New restaurant

In a few weeks, the new restaurant should be opening in the 108 and it is located on the left side of the mailboxes on Telqua Drive.
