Cariboo Idols provides a showcase for Cariboo-Chilcotin vocally talented song-writing performing artists.
The top 10 of the auditioning artists will be entertaining audiences at many events during the summer months, and they will have their music heard on Caribooradio.com after recording their songs at New Age Studios.
In its now seventh season, this year's auditions are slated to begin on May 14-15 from 6 to 9 p.m. Call-backs will happen on May 16-17, starting at 6 p.m. Everything takes place at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre.
In addition to singers only, the Idols organizer Rob Fry is encouraging more songwriter performers to audition.
There will be a microphone, acoustic guitar and keyboard available to use, as well as a laptop to play music tracks. Auditioners may also bring along an accompanist if they so wish.
All ages are welcome to audition, but anyone under the age of 18 will have to have a parent or guardian be present and sign their registration form at the check in desk in front of a member of the South Cariboo Community Concerts or New Age Entertainment, upon arrival for their first audition.
Fry says there are no exceptions.

All entrants also need to bring along a $10 cash registration fee.
This year's judges will once again be Denny Fahrenholtz, Larry Rode, Bev Fry, Cindy Fetzner and Terry Larum.
Fry says the whole competition is about having fun while working together as a group to help one another to ensure great solid performances while on stage, in studio, and in music videos.
The Cariboo Idols will be performing at a number of events in the South Cariboo this summer, starting with their first show at the Louisiana Hayride on May 19. Then they will open the Family Barn Dance on May 20, and both performances at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre.
They will continue on with their performances at the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Centennial Park on June 9.

All 10 finalists will be winners with the experiences they will have, regardless of where they place in the competition, by the end of the season in September.

The top 10 contestants will also get into a recording studio to record your songs and music videos, which will be uploaded to YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
