Bridge Lake Community School busy with events, courses

Community news happening around the Bridge Lake area

Bridge Lake Community School (BLCS) is hosting the Bridge Lake Antiques Road Show on June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so bring your portable antiques and collectibles.

The fee is by donation to BLCS, $5 per item, or $20 for five items. Lunch will be available, and then you can enjoy the Pioneer Social when longtime residents share photos, memorabilia and heritage items.

BLCS birding trips are ongoing at 7:30 a.m. - May 26, June 2, 9, 16 and 30. Call Wendy Marshall at 250-593-2327 by 6 p.m. the previous evening if you plan to participate.

Chinese cooking is offered at 5:30 p.m., May 24. The cost is $25. Call Gail at 250-593-4351 to see if space remains.

 

Pie booths

BLCS has committed to providing pie booths at Bridge Lake Rodeo (June 28) and Interlakes Rodeo (Aug. 2 and 3); and the concession at Bridge Lake Fair (Aug. 17.)

Sad passing

The community of Deka Lake was deeply shocked and saddened when Bob

Warner passed away suddenly on May 10.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Shari, and Bob's family.

 

Celebrations

Birthday bubbly goes to Ken Patterson; and congratulations on Val and Gary Davidovich's 29th wedding anniversary, May 25.
