Bake sale coming up

A friendly reminder that the Watch Lake & District Women’s Institute (WLDWI) are planning to have their Easter Bake Sale on Thursday, March 29 at the Cariboo Mall from 10 a.m. until the goodies are sold out.

If you want to donate baking or for more information, please contact Ruth Kachur at 250-395-1163 or email w.i._ruth@telus.net.

Their meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month, except July and August, at the Watch Lake Community Hall (WLCH) at 11:30 a.m.

Association AGM

The Watch Lake-Green Lake Community Association (WLGLCA) held its annual general meeting on March 14 with 10 members attending.

The executives are president Joni Guenther; vice-president Guy Poliseno; secretary/treasurer Gisele Poliseno; directors Janet Boyd, Alan Boyd and Helen Hicks.

The association’s events for this year include the gymkhanas on July 14 and August 11 and the Christmas Party in December.

Auxiliary AGM

Thirteen members attended the Watch Lake/North Green Lake Volunteer Fire Department (WLNGLVFD) Auxiliary’s annual general meeting held at Shorty Horn Memorial Fire Hall (Hall 1) on March 17.

Events planned for this year include the Firefighter’s Appreciation Dinner on March 31 and the Garage and Bake Sale on May 19 at the Sonny Johnson Memorial Fire Hall.

The 2018 board of directors are Gisele Poliseno, president; Anita Stoughton, vice-president; Marjorie Hogg, secretary; Barbara Thurston, treasurer; directors Susan Nathane, Gladys Klenk and Janet Boyd.

Celebrations

Bubbly birthday wishes to Jim Hicks for March 26.

Happy anniversary to George and Candace Tyler. They will be celebrating this special day on April 2.

WLNGLVFD will meet every Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. commencing April 3.

New volunteers are always welcome.
