Amazing Challenge will benefit local hospice society

There's a new event this year and it's all about having a blast while helping out the 100 Mile District Hospice and Palliative Care Society.

The First Annual Hospice Amazing Challenge is happening on May 28 to support the society, and it's going to put the "fun" back in word "fundraiser."

Up to 15 teams of four will compete in 10 challenges, starting at different locations throughout the South Cariboo.

The first team to complete the challenges will win bragging rights and a trophy, but all the teams' members will get that warm, fuzzy feeling that comes from doing something for their community.

Hidden prizes along the way will keep the challenge that much more interesting.

While some light hiking will be involved, each team must include one car and driver to aid in its search for clues and getting around obstacles.

Team members need sufficient mental and physical agility to participate independently and walk for about an hour.

A donation of $200 per team to support the society is required to enter the challenge.

Teams must register by May 1, but those interested in participating should sign up as soon as possible, since the number of teams is limited.

Other event volunteers are also welcome and appreciated.
