AGE-FRIENDLY event slated

Seniors will learn about estate law change, government programs and benefits

The next South Cariboo AGE-FRIENDLY free event is at Horton Ventures, located at 808 Alpine Ave. (north of Sunrise Ford) on April 27 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Judy Simkins, who will be the guest speaker, has previously held information sessions for the Caregiver’s Support Group and she also sponsored a very popular booth at the Senior’s Resource Fair held last October.

Seniors will be able to access helpful information:

• The new estate laws in B.C.

• The benefits of having a will and the new changes to laws surrounding wills

• The role of the executor and named trustees of your estate

• Government benefits and programs.

Simkins of LifeCycle Financial will also have several handouts and information pamphlets.

Attendees will enjoy light refreshments with other people interested in making the South Cariboo more “age-friendly.”

Please RSVP to Darrel Warman by calling 250-609-0432 or e-mail at sc.agefriendly@gmail.com.
