The annual Dusty Rose fishing derby will be held Feb. 19 at Big Bar Lake, with dinner to follow at the pub.

Poker results
The 70 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department (70MHVFD) held a poker tournament Jan. 29.
There were 37 players and the winners were: first, Dave MacDonald; second, John Kozakevich; third, Cindy Craig; fourth, Steve Thomson; fifth, Len Burwell; and sixth, Betty Westerager.
The next tournament is scheduled for March 26.
Bingo pots
The 70MHVFD bingos were held Jan. 13 and 27.
On Jan. 13, Chico Johnston won the G-ball pot of $670. This resulted in a smaller crowd of players on Jan. 27.
The loonie pot has grown to $115. The next bingo dates are Feb. 10 and 24. The doors at the Seventy Mile Access Centre (SMAC) open at 6:15 p.m. and play starts at 7. For more information, call Vic at 250-456-2321.

There was a third draw for a Vegas package on Jan. 26 at the weekly poker night at the pub, and the winner was
Steve Thomson.
There will be two more draws - on Feb. 23 and March 30. All players are entered in the draw.

There will be no meat draw at the pub on Feb. 19 due to the fishing derby.
Bookmobile
The Thompson Nicola bookmobile will be in the area on Feb. 17.
It will be at the South Green Lake fire hall from 10 to 11 a.m., and at the 70 Mile General
Store from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
