Our close-knit community has many exciting events occur on a regular schedule, even those that have a historical background.
I am your new correspondent. My wife and I made the transition from Victoria to the 108 four years ago and we just love this area.
We enjoy our home, large lot, and the peaceful surroundings.
Correspondence is nothing without your assistance. Please telephone or e-mail.

Garbage cans
There are now four garbage cans available for the 108 residents.
One container is wheelchair accessible and located at Sepa Lake accessibility kiosk and three more located at the 108 Lake Main Beach, two of which are also wheel chair accessible.
All of the cans are bear proof, mounted on a concrete slab and bolted into position.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure donated one of the containers some time ago and the 108 Green Belt Commission purchased the last three this year.
Green Belt Commission director Robin Nadin, assisted by Darren Paulson, installed the containers a few days ago with the use of the truck and crane from the 108 Building Supply.
Nadin co-ordinated the accessibility upgrades to the trail around Sepa Lake last year.
Nadin says the Green Belt Commission hopes people enjoy the use of these two great facilities, but asks folks to help keep both areas in good condition and clean up after their pets.
Seedlings planted
At 10 a.m. on July 11, the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) held a ceremony at the Sepa Lake accessibility kiosk to announce a donation of approximately 250 pine, spruce and Douglas-fir seedlings to the Green Belt Commission.
Some of the seedlings were to be planted at Sepa Lake, with the rest going to an area on the west side of Walker Valley.
The seedlings were donated by Silvagro Partnership, represented by Norm Livingstone, and Blue Collar Silviculture of Quesnel. The CRD Forest Capital Committee thanked these partners for their support over the past two years.
CRD board chair Al Richmond and Steve Mazur, Forest Capital Committee chair, each planted a seedling and gave a short statement thanking all connected with the event.
Representing the Green Belt Commission were Nadin, Barry Porter and Ron Soeder who, in turn, thanked all concerned.
A few members of the general public also attended.
Watch for children at play
Now that school is finished for the summer, there are more children, as well as adults and visitors, using the roads around the 108 Ranch.
Please use caution while driving and remember there is a posted speed limit.
