This will be my last column, and while it has been great fun and I’ve met a lot of terrific people, it’s time to move on and devote more time to old activities and try some new ones.

Thanks to everyone who has read my column and phoned in with news items to share with our friends and neighbours.

Everybody take care, stay healthy, and continue to look after and enjoy this amazing community we live in.

Editor’s note

We, at the Free Press, would like to thank Jennifer for the great job she has done for us over the years, not only as a correspondent for her community at the 108 Mile Ranch, but also for taking on other feature stories for Cariboo Calling, the Christmas supplement as well as many others.

Thank you Jennifer for being a valued member of our team.

Correspondent sought

There is an opening for a correspondent in the 108 Mile Ranch who would like to supply the community with information about what’s gone on, as well as what is coming up.

There is a small stipend for columns and photographs that are published every other week.

The successful candidate needs to have a telephone, computer and camera.

Writing and photography training is available.

If you’re interested, please send an application by e-mail to the editor at newsroom@100milefreepress.net.

This position is perfect for people who love their community and enjoy meeting their neighbours and want to get some writing experience for the book we all have in us.

Information needed

While the Free Press is looking for a correspondent, the news goes on.

So, we are asking those who called Jennifer with information for her column to e-mail the material to Ken at newsroom@100milefreepress.net (include your name and phone number). We would need the information for event promotions two weeks in advance of publication.

If you have community events, get-well, birthday or anniversary wishes or any other news our readers would like to hear about, let us know.
