108 Mile Ranch artist Joanne Young is very talented, and if you ever get chance to view her work, you will realize just how talented she really is.
Joanne was a school teacher for 38 years, some of which in School District 27 until her retirement in 2009, and until recently, she served as an on-call teacher.
She has her master’s degree in art education and taught at a summer art school for a couple of years.
Born in Vancouver at St Vincent’s Hospital, it was later on she realized art would become her passion in life. After moving into the 108 Mile, she became involved with the Art Students Gallery in 100 Mile and eventually provided art lessons for students. Now, she is a recognized critic for art students.
Joanne is currently doing window painting, using acrylic paints that work well on glass, for a number of local businesses. Folks can see examples of her work at Western Financial, Napa Auto Parts, 108 Gas Station, Donex Pharmacy, 108 Grocery Superstore, Dowes Diner and a number of other locations.
