Royal LePage welcomes Christmas donations

Royal LePage accepts donations of non-perishable food, new toys and money, which will be given to various local charity organizations

For the past several years, realtors at Royal LePage 100 Mile Realty have collected money, food, and gifts to give those less fortunate of our community at Christmas.

"All of us have, as a group or individually, given to community charities or to individual families in need all during the year," says realtor Ron Kelly.

"But for our annual Christmas Helper event, we like to get the word out; although, we have already received calls from people asking us when we're starting our collection."

Royal LePage accepts donations of non-perishable food, new toys and money, which will be given to various local charity organizations and the less fortunate citizens in the 100 Mile House area.

We are going to have Santa at the office on Nov. 25, says Kelly.

"He will be here at 4 p.m., so the little ones can see him and maybe get a picture before the parade starts."

He adds parents can then get the smaller children home if they wish.

"Santa will be here until 8 p.m. We'll have some refreshments and hot chocolate for everyone to enjoy." Pictures with Santa will be printed out the same evening for people to take home. They are free to the public, but Kelly says donations would be accepted.

In their previous Christmas Helper events, Kelly says, Royal LePage gave thousands of dollars of worth of food and toys to local charities. All donations were from the local public and the realtors from their office.

"We'll take donations up to Christmas Eve. If it's food, it is still needed after Christmas day.

"We are so grateful to the people of this community; they are so generous."

Drop off your donations between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, from now until Christmas Eve to the Royal LePage office at 96 Highway 97, next to the Red Coach Inn.
