Moving regional tourism forward together

CCCTA Tourism Summit & AGM slated for Williams Lake

At what may be the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast’s most important tourism summit of the decade, stakeholders from across the region are encouraged to join industry experts for the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association (CCCTA) Tourism Summit & AGM in Williams Lake, Dec. 4-6.

Participants will have the opportunity to provide input and influence tactics on how Destination BC can work best for industry and communities.

On Dec. 4, Destination BC’s chief executive officer Marsha Walden will kick off the opening reception at the Tourism Discovery Centre with an engaging exhibition focusing on British Columbia’s refreshed Super Natural British Columbia© brand and new corporate strategy.

Dec. 5 will see participants immersed in a full slate of activities and presentations at the CCCTA annual general meeting.

Daniel Craig will lead a professional development workshop, titled Advanced Online Reputation Management.

The CCCTA team will be looking for input on the redesign of the Land Without Limits website.

Gold Rush Trail project manager Tanya Wong, along with the Royal BC Museum’s Tzu-I Chung, will be proposing how stakeholders could benefit from the upcoming 2015 Gold Rush! Eldorado in BC Exhibit.

One of the regions premier photographers – Chris Harris will reveal his latest book project that will focus on the story of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region and how businesses can participate with him.

Friday evening is time for some Cariboo-style networking during the gala dinner, industry awards and auction.

Dec. 6 will begin with a town-hall session to hear industry and community ideas, concerns and suggestions. This opportunity offers stakeholders a platform to share ideas, to raise issues that are impacting business and to give the regional board of directors input on the new direction in tourism.

Following that meeting, stakeholders are invited to provide input on Destination BC’s proposed new co-op marketing program. As part of its new corporate strategy, Destination BC is moving toward new approaches to co-operative marketing.

This workshop is one of the consultation sessions Destination BC is hosting over the next month to gather input from industry and community stakeholders and to help develop detailed guidelines prior to implementation.

The CCCTA is a regional destination management organization that works in conjunction with the Destination BC, Canadian Tourism Commission and industry partners in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region to help foster the growth of the tourism.
