100 Mile House was put on the map at the B.C. Home and Garden Show this year when a Trinity Post and Panel home was the main-stage feature.

Fantastic is the only word for it,” says Trinity Post and Panel owner Ken Harper, who adds the whole show was set up around a Trinity summer smart home with new design, technology and construction.

People were blown away. We heard comments like, ‘It’s gorgeous’, and ‘Love it, love it’ and ‘Beautiful’.”

He notes there was also an overwhelming and exciting response from the construction industry.

We had quite a number of home builders ask about our product and we were visited by some developers – that’s the market we really want to get into.”

According to Harper, timber frame houses aren’t offered in the mainstream construction market place because they’re expensive and people don’t think they can afford them.

They’re right. A typical timber frame is $300 to $500 a square foot; what’s unique about us that we’re under $200.

We do that by building with uniform-size timber, by using all mechanical connections and the best insulation in the construction industry,” he adds.

We came away from the show with huge leads and support, and an overwhelming sense of we’re doing the right thing. I felt absolutely proud to be from 100 Mile House.”
