We sometimes take what we have for granted and may at times not appreciate the wonderful things that are close to home.
One of those special places is the Echo Valley Ranch and Spa west of Clinton and 30 minutes north of Kelly Lake near Jesmond.
“We must be doing something right,” says Norm Dove, Echo Valley Ranch and Spa owner.
“First we were notified by TripAdvisor that we had been awarded number 3 in their 2011 list of Top 25 hotels in all of Canada."
Now, he adds, they have even better news, as Echo Valley has been awarded fifth spot for best service in all hotels in Canada and number 12 in the Best Spa category.
TripAdvisor results are tabulated by the number of guest reviews submitted and whether those reviews are positive or negative. Dove says Echo Valley received 100 reviews in 2011, and 99 of those were rated “very positive.”
“We thank all our guests, especially those from British Columbia, who visited us last year and took the time to write a guest review and send it to TripAdvisor. These awards show the power of social media.
“In days past, only experts and travel writers reviewed properties in newspapers and magazines. Now, the public is getting a chance to state its views, and here at Echo Valley, we certainly are listening to what they have to say."
Customer service is very important to them, Dove says, adding a virtually unknown ranch being rated number 5 in all of Canada, including all the famous major resorts for service is quite an honour.
