The 100 Mile House Wranglers jumped to an early series lead Tuesday night.

The Wranglers beat the Revelstoke Grizzlies 4-1 in front of a packed Forum crowd to lead the Doug Birks Division Final best-of-seven series 1-0.

The Revelstoke Grizzlies drew first blood as Clark Nelson scooped up a rebound and pushed it past Wranglers goalie Jakub Severson just over halfway through the first period.

The Wranglers soon tied it up 1-1 as Dawson Long picked up a rebound and snuck the puck past Revelstoke goalie Giovanni Sambrielaz with 5:14 left in the first frame.

The Wranglers continued to put pressure on the Grizzlies and took a 2-1 lead with 3:40 remaining in the second period.

The 100 Mile pair of James Gordon and Rob Raju proved dangerous in the third frame, as they added two more goals for the Wranglers, including a final empty-netter from half to win 4-1 on the road in a hostile home fan-packed Forum.

The Grizzlies will be looking to rebound in Game 2 tonight at 7 at the Revelstoke Forum.

NOTES: Revelstoke Head Coach Ryan Parent was presented the KIJHL Coach of the Year award before the game. The award is voted on by coaches in the league. First Star was Clark Nelson, who scored the Grizzlies’ sole goal last night. Second Star was 100 Mile’s James Gordon, who scored two goals for the visitors.
