Dear Prime Minister:

You will have heard this or read this in hundreds of mails, I trust (and I hope).

Please, do not publicly get involved in or comment on any matters being dealt with in Canadian Courts!

It is, in my view, quite alarming when you leave any doubt that you accept judgments of proper Canadian Courts, even jury trials!

Your recent comments on this subject somewhat -very painfully- remind me of Donald Trump’s rather ridiculous, unintelligent, alarming remarks some months ago when he disparaged the U.S. district judge Curiel in California as an unfit/unsuitable “Mexican“ because that judge was allegedly of Mexican ethnic background, hence, ‘was not qualified to hear or decide the Trump-related case.

Sir: are any ten or twelve “white” jurors less qualified to dispense justice than native Indian jurors? … or than a mix of “white” and indigenous people?

Might there be any other groups of people in our country that would request to choose the composite of a jury for matters close to their hearts or interests?

Please sir, tell the protesters to grow up to become wise citizens of Canada.

And stay out of these matters yourself.
