To the editor:

We’ve all seen this!

I had just pulled into a parking spot at Save-on-Foods last week on a very hot day.

As I was getting out of my truck, I saw an elderly woman walk past the front of my truck and then away from me between two cars.

As she was almost abreast of the front door of the vehicle, a massive black dog came lunging out of the open car window, growling, snarling and baring its teeth.

Its body was out the window up to its front shoulders.

The poor lady was totally shocked and thank goodness was able to fall against the other car to escape the dog’s teeth. After a second, shaken, she backed away from the vehicles.

With summer coming on and hot days and hot vehicles, people are leaving the windows open wider for their pets. What they aren’t realizing is those pets are not necessarily friendly to a passerby.

Might be an idea to either restrain your pet before it terrifies, bites or much worse some elderly person or possibly an innocent child walking by.
