Born to Philip and Anne Becker on October 4, 1940 in Fernie, BC. Bill came to 100 Mile House in 1964 and worked at the hospital. Subsequent jobs in the community included work at Ainsworth Lumber, the Red Coach Inn, The Cariboo Mall and Overwaitea. Eventually he applied his carpentry skills to developing a successful home- based business. His carpentry work in the community put him in contact with many people over the years and he made many friends. He will be missed by his family, the community he loved and his many friends who appreciated his honest, no nonsense approach to life.Bill suddenly left us on Monday November 20, 2006, at home in 100 Mile House. Bill is survived by Gloria, his loving wife of 42 years; his daughter Cori (Maurice) and son Bryan; his grandsons Frank, Nick and Sam; his mother Anne Lees Becker; his brothers Jack (Angie), Kent (Eileen), Jerry (Judy); his sisters Carol and Deena (Jim) as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Predeceased by his father Phillip. A celebration of life service was held on November 24, 2006 in 100 Mile House. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Children’s Hospital.
