June 8, 1926 - Feb. 26, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Kulyk, age 90. Walter was predeceased by his first wife, Gertie, in 1976; his sons, Ronnie, Larry and Timmy; and then his second wife, Patricia, in 2016.

He is survived by his sons; Jim (Lorraine) of 108 Mile Ranch and Randy Sr., also of 108 Mile Ranch; his grandchildren, Sheri, Jason (Natalie), Randy Jr. and Alisha (Adam); as well as his great grandchildren, Nadia, Odin, Taylor, Kaitlyn and Ethan.

Walter was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. During the depression, he served his country in the Second World War as a gunner and was discharged in 1946. Walter moved his family up to the Cariboo from the coast in 1962 to a ranch at Sheridan Lake. In his later years, his health required him to move to Carefree Manor and then to 100 Mile House General Hospital until his death on February 26, 2017.

By his own request there will be no formal service.

Walter lived his life the way he wanted. He will be missed by his family. Rest in peace, Dad.

The family of Walter Kulyk would like to thank Cindy and the staff at Carefree Manor for the excellent care that our father received while he was a resident.

The community is very fortunate to have such a facility in our small town.

We also extend our gratitude to Dr. Nicholson and all the dedicated nursing staff at 100 Mile House General Hospital for the care our father received during his final days.

Sincerely,

The Kulyk Family
