June 5, 1925 - March 4, 2009

Tena died peacefully in Oliver, BC., after a courageous battle with cancer. Tena was born to Jacob and Aganetha Froese, in Arkadak, Russia. In 1926 they emigrated to Canada and eventually settled in Pitt Meadows, BC. She married Pete Wiens in 1952 and in 1958 they moved to 100 Mile House, BC., where they remained until Pete’s death in October, 1989. Tena loved her family, the Cariboo, music and her beloved animal friends. She was well known for her cake decorating and beautiful holiday displays. And who could forget, her sharp tongue and wonderful sense of humor. From 1970 - 1990, Tena worked at the 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment, as a matron. Anyone under her watch, quickly learned, that she was a force to be reckoned with. She really loved her job. In 1990, she met Randy Domes, who would become her second husband. They shared a love of travel, music, fishing and hunting. Left to mourn her loss are, her most faithful and loving companion, “Bear”; husband, Randy; brother, Jake (Mary); sisters, Mary (John), Frieda (Bill) and Betty. Best friend and “saster” Elsie Johnson and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and good friends. Tena was predeceased by parents, Jacob and Aganetha; twin brothers, Jacob and Abe; husband, Pete; sisters, Helen, Hilda and Nettie; brothers in law, Albert, Harvey, Ben and Don. Tena was cremated in Oliver, BC., but her remains will be brought “home” to 100 Mile House, where a celebration of her life will be held. The time and place will be announced at a later date. You all know, who you are. Thank You.
