Oct. 26, 1948 – Oct. 8, 2016

Surrounded by his family, Stan went to be with the Lord. He was born on October 26, 1948 in Thessalon, Ontario to Herb and Margaret Weir. After working for the Inco Nickel Mine in Sudbury, Ontario, Stan moved to BC in 1971 to start a new career in plumbing. He took his training at BC Vocational School in Burnaby, BC becoming a journeyman plumber gas fitter in 1976. He worked in the Fraser Valley always with the dream of finding a little ranch and acreage.

Stan’s dream became a reality when, in 1994, he found his little piece of heaven on earth in Lone Butte. He continued his plumbing and always appreciated his employment with Cameo Plumbing in 100 Mile House. Stan was a quiet man; full of integrity, an excellent plumber, and a great mentor. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and loved having tea parties with them all.

Stan is survived by his beloved wife Judith Margaret, his children; Charlene (Gerry), Brian (Nicole), and Christopher (Jenelle), his grandchildren; Ryder, Sarah, Brody, Mia and Luca. Also to mourn his passing are his siblings; Norm (Jen), Sheila (Albert), Donelda (Eric), Lionel (Bonnie), Lynda and Arlene (Byron), and in-laws; Hank (Dorothy), Gus (Pat), and Jen (Norm). Stan was sadly predeceased by his eldest son, Steven in 2002.

A memorial service in honour of Stan will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Evangelical Free Church in 100 Mile House at 1:00pm. A time of gathering will follow in the fellowship room of the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Stan’s memory to Amyloid Research, BC Cancer Agency - Vancouver Branch #150-686 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1
