Rod passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the 100 Mile House Hospital with his beloved wife Marian holding him near to her heart. Rod was retired after 29 years with the Vancouver Police Dept., eight of which were on the mounted squad at Stanley Park. He enjoyed his time at both Whistler and Green Lake in the Cariboo. Rod is lovingly remembered by Marian, son Jeff (Shannon) and his brand new grandson Matthew James Lines, born April 11, 2009. Also greatly feeling the loss of Rod are: his mother-in-law Peggy Matthews, brother-in-law David Matthews, sister-in-law Liz Hansen (Doug), nephews Brad and Curtis, plus his aunts, uncle, cousins, and many friends and former work-mates.

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at the Stanley Park Pavilion on May 21, 2009 at 1pm.
