Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on October 27, 2008 at the age of 69. Predeceased by his parents, Irenee and Irene Champagne, Ray is lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn; brothers Leo (Delores), George (Margaret); sisters, Rita, Lillian, Irene (Larry); brother-in-law, Ron Erickson (Francine); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cherished friends. Ray will always be remembered for his contagious laughter, his love of playing cards, his computer and the great outdoors. A Mass was offered on Friday, October 31 at 1:30 pm at Saint Jude’s Catholic Church in 100 Mile House, B.C. Ray was born in Fisherbranch, Manitoba, the youngest of 11 children. He moved to British Columbia where he eventually found work at BC Rail as a Carman.

“Today an Angel called my name and took me by the hand. Said my place was ready and I hope you’ll understand. When tomorrow starts without me because I had to leave, remember I loved you as much as you loved me.”
