Pam passed away at age 90 at Christensen Village in Gibsons, B.C. on March 26, 2017.

Pam raised her three boys, Gary (Joyce), Terry (Lorraine) and Stewart (Stella) in Vancouver, B.C. She was well-known around the neighbourhood and at Safeway, where she worked for many years.

Pam and Harry (deceased) retired to their summer home on Lac la Hache. Family and friends travelling Hwy 97 always had a pit stop and a warm welcome when they dropped in.

Pam’s seven grandchildren all remember summers swimming and boating. Visiting, for the grandchildren during Spring break, meant ice fishing, which started at 5 am. Pam baited many a hook! She also has three great grandchildren.

Family and friends remember trading venison for canned Kokanee or salmon. Pam could preserve anything and you rarely left without a wonderful jar of jam or a loaf of homemade bread. Most evenings, Pam could be found on her deck, feeding birds and squirrels. A beloved dog would not be far away.

Pam is survived by two of seven brothers; Dick (Courtney, B.C.) and Pat (Chilliwack, B.C) Wheeldon.

Pam had an internal barometer for fairness which she adhered to and she would freely give you her opinion along with pretty much anything else you needed or asked for. She will be sadly missed.

A gathering in her honour will be announced at a later date.

Many thanks to the care aides, nurses and support staff at Christensen Village for their care and kindness towards Pam. Also, appreciation for the team of aides from community support who helped Pam and Tawny remain in her home for two years prior.
