Loving Husband and Wife of 44 years

Mike passed in Kamloops, B.C. on the 8th of February 2009. Anna passed only five days later in 100 Mile House, B.C. on the 13th of February 2009. Although there were other health issues, both passed peacefully due to heart failure.

The couple are survived by their son and daughter’s families, Pete, Melissa and Chloe Shewchuk, Louise and Martin Vachon, Jesse and Ayla McConnell, Christopher Vachon, and Joanna Vachon. Mike is also survived by his sisters Betty Shewchuk, and Bernice Lindsay.

Mike was born in Vancouver, B.C. on the 18th of May 1939. Anna was born in North Vancouver, B.C. on the 19th of August 1941. They married on the 17th of October 1964 in North Vancouver, B.C., cherishing their love ever since.

Mike and Anna raised their family between Vancouver Island, and the Queen Charlottes where Mike was an electrical contractor, before retiring to the 100 Mile House area in 1991. Mike and Anna enjoyed the outdoor life of the Cariboo, including fishing one of their favourite lakes, touring the backcountry, or hunting with their son Pete. Mike was always tinkering in his shop, while Anna enjoyed bird watching, and her many crafts. They could often be found socializing with friends at one of their favourite diners.

A joint memorial service will be held for Mike and Anna at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 100 Mile House B.C., at 2:30 pm on Saturday the 28th of February 2009.
