May 13, 1948 - Feb. 21, 2008

After a courageous battle with cancer Maryrae Sharon Hooper slipped away at the 100 Mile House Hospital on February 21, 2008 with her loving husband, children and best friend at her side. She is survived by her husband Brian, daughter Sherri (Jim) Bicknell, son Reg (Angie) Hooper and her beloved grandchildren: Hillary, Kurtis, Mitchell, Tanner, and Jackson. Maryrae lived her life to the fullest and always was the first one up to dance! She was always active in the community “cheering on” both her children and grandchildren in minor hockey, softball, figure skating, and soccer. Maryrae was often heard exclaiming “how lucky” she was to have all her family living in the same community. Maryrae loved the sun and beach spending vacations in Cuba, Fiji, and Mexico with her best friend Dianne and sister-in-law Bev. She especially loved her time spent at the family recreational lot on Canim Lake going boating, water skiing, and sun bathing. A celebration of Maryrae’s life will be held on Saturday March 1st, 2008 at 2pm at the Lone Butte Community Hall. All those who loved Maryrae are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Cariboo Health Foundation. The Hooper family wishes to thank all the staff of the 100 Mile Hospital with special thanks to Dr. Nicholson.
