Marion Cardin (nee Beddington)

Marion was born in Enderby and met Victor Cardin in 1938 at a box lunch social. On May 31, 1941 they were married. Marion and Vic had two children: Anita and Ian. They moved to the Cariboo in 1948. Vic was in a partnership that established the first portable saw mill at Lac la Hache. Marion was an active member of the United Church throughout her life in the Cariboo. Some of Marion’s many accomplish-ments were knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch, sewing and painting. She sold and demonstrated liquid embroider-ing in the 60’s and was honoured for sales selling and demonstrating Avon. Marion is survived by her daughter Anita Cardin (Griffiths), four grand-children and ten great grand-children; son Victor Ian Cardin and wife Janis, two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren who Ian is papa to. Marion is predeceased by her mother and father, a brother and sister. A Memorial Service was held Dec. 2, 2003 at 100 Mile United Church, officiated by Rev. Hilde J. Seal.
