Lois passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Kelowna General Hospital, lovingly surrounded by her husband and four children She is survived by her husband Richard (Dick); her sons John McCarvill (Evva), and Mike Thain (Sharon); daughters Kelly McArthur (John) and Kathy Thain. Being a grandmother was also a joy to Lois and she leaves Liza, Jennifer, Christopher, Kerry, Christina, Matthew, Katie, Lorraine, Melissa and Meagan. She was also the great grandmother to Grace, Brandin and Emily. Throughout her life, Lois also “adopted” so many into her family that the names are too numerous to mention here. Please know that we appreciate all the loving messages that have come to us. Lois met life with cheerful purpose. She had a smile for everyone and enjoyed nothing better than to cook for whoever gathered together. A voracious reader, she loved books of all kinds and spent many years collecting cookbooks. Always learning, Lois made it her goal to teach and travel for over 20 years with New Directions and Pathways To Change. Her unconditional love and support inspired others to follow their dreams. Lois truly was “A Powerful, Loving Lady.”
A memorial is planned later this month in 100 Mile House, B.C. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
