May 5, 2004

1942 - 2004

With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Larry Smith after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Larry leaves to mourn Marie, his wife of thirty years; his daughters Jennifer Koehler (Steven) and Gillian Martens (Jay) and granddaughter Taylor. He will also be deeply missed by his sister Doris Todd and brother John (Anne). His warm smile and willing hands will be missed by in-laws Marie Wainwright and Pat and Roger Graham; nieces Julie and Lisa Graham and nephews Derick and Daryle Todd as well as his may friends at Green Lake and in the Lower Mainland. Larry is pre-deceased by his parents Madeline and Bill Smith, and his first wife Phyllis (Stukle). Larry served his apprenticeship in jewelry manufacturing before buying “Collins Jewelers of Kerrisdale” which he operated from 1975 until his retirement in 2003. Larry was involved in his community wherever he lived or worked. He was a member of the Kerrisdale Masons and the South Green Lake Volunteer Fire Department as well as many social organizations. The family wishes to thank the Canadian Cancer Society and the doctors, nurses and staff if the hospital in 100 Mile House for their kindness and support. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held in Green Lake at the Snowmobile Clubhouse on June 13, 2004.
