The Cariboo has lost a wonderful man. John (Jack) Black was a loved, and respected ‘Ol Timer’ of Bridge Lake for 71 years.

He married the love of his life, Pauline King (Polly), on January 25, 1958 and together raised four children, Debra (Andre), Calvin (Gale), Brenda (Greg) and Tammie (Neil).

He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was a ‘Jack’ of all trades, from hunting guide to grader operator to highways foreman, rancher, truck driver, to school bus driver.

He loved life and met each challenge with “what possibly could go wrong?” or “one of two things will happen”.

He took great pride in raising top quality Charolais cattle for the past 35 years.

His family, friends and animals knew no bounds to his love, support, commitment and dedication. He was a hero to his kids, a sole mate to his wife and best friend to many. He will be missed.

There will be no formal service.
