It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Janice passed away on Jan. 14, 2006 at her home in Courtenay, B.C. surrounded by family. Janice is survived by her husband Andrew, Uncle Dave and children Robert (Janine), David (Dorothy), and Heather (Butch); as well as grandchildren Ronald, Janice (Brent), Thomas (Dee), Melanie, David (Terina), Kristina and John; and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Serina and Kayleigh. Numerous other friends and family were also left to cherish her memory. Janice was predeceased by her mother Violet and step-father William Gillis. Janice was born in Vancouver, B.C. Her love of the mountains caused her to live in B.C. her entire life and devote herself to her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and living life to the fullest. As well, she was an avid hockey fan and watched the Canucks when she could. She taught us many great things and will always be in our thoughts and memories. She touched the hearts and lives of many with her kindness and love. The family wishes to extend appreciation to Dr. Fitzpatrick, Pat Christholm and the many nurses who provided their exceptional kindness and care.
If roses grow in Heaven, Lord,
Please pick a bunch for us,
Place them in our mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from us.
Tell her we all love and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
We do it everyday,
But there’s an ache inside
our hearts,
That will never go away.
