It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving father, Irvine Henry Lenz. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Charlotte Lenz, daughters Cathy Pearson (Steve), Shirley Worrall and sons Irvine Lenz Jr. (Connie), Wayne (Joan), Bryan (Elizabeth), Doug(Donna) and Roger Worrall (Cathy). Dad had 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Carl and Ruby Lenz, brothers Melbourne and Wilfred Lenz. Irvine was born on March 10, 1924 in Bede, Manitoba and left us on December 19th at Burnaby General Hospital surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84. Irvine was also a very proud Veteran of World War II serving in Scotland, France, Holland and Germany from 1942 – 1945 playing a part in the liberation of Nijmegen, Holland. After returning from the war he worked as a bus driver, then at the Pacific Grain terminal in Vancouver until his retirement at age 62. He then moved to Green Lake to retire where he was able to enjoy the next 20 plus years, before going into Carlton Gardens Care Home in Burnaby in February 2008. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Irvine’s life will be held on January 10, 2009 at the Langley Legion located at 20702 Eastleigh Cresent, Langley, B.C. at 2:00 p.m. The family will also hold a Memorial in the late spring/early summer up at Green Lake.
