1920 - 2009
Ina passed away peacefully in 100 Mile Hospital on September 21, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1987, son Allan in May 2009, sisters Doris Nordlund, Eileen Zarysky and brother, Edward Hanscomb. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Sharon (Jake) Isaaks, daughter–in–law Sharon Smith, grandchildren: Steven (Pat) Johansen, Kelly (Doug) Snider, Ryan (Jamie) and Adam Smith; great grandchildren: Melissa and Michael Johansen, Russell and Julia Snider; step-grandchildren: Mark (Vanessa) Isaaks, Annette (Glenn) Fox, Jeanette (Chris) Ashwell, Karen (Colin) Peverley and step-great grandchildren, as well as many family members and friends.
Ina was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and spent her younger years in Vancouver. She attended Templeton Jr. High and married Arthur in 1940. She raised her family at Deep Cove and Port Coquitlam, where she was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple. Ina and Art retired to Miracle Beach, Vancouver Is., and in 1988 she moved to Pitt Meadows, then to 100 Mile House in 2003. Ina enjoyed gardening, knitting, golf and playing cards. She loved to travel with her friends: Lily Smith, and Ilene Hart.
Her stay at Carefree Manor was a happy one and the family would like to thank Mel and the staff for their kindness, as well as the Doctors and staff at the 100 Mile Hospital.
There will be no service, and in lieu of flowers, a donation to the BC Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.
